WWDC Roundup
As you may know Apple held it’s World Wide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) Recently. I made some predictions about what the would see at the keynote announcement. Let’s recap my predictions and some of the other cool stuff announced at this year’s WWDC.
- We will see a new music service
CHECK: The new Music service will launch this month.
MISS:
- No video streaming service
CHECK: There was NO new video service announced at WWDC.
- No new TV
CHECK: I don’t expect a new TV until Apple can revolutionize content delivery.
- Native apps for watch
CHECK: The things that are coming in watchOS2 are awesome!
- Possibly native apps for TV
MISS: This was a shot in the dark, honestly.
- iOS 9
CHECK: No-brainer, right. This version of iOS is huge for iPad. It brings split screen multitasking to the iPad.
- An improved spotlight search
- An improved Siri
- Something akin to Google Now
CHECK, CHECK, CHECK: Apple announced Intelligence and it is awesome. It’s location aware and it will search inside other apps. This is a huge. I was a big spotlight fan. If Intelegence brings the results as promised I will continue to be.
- OS X 10.11
CHECK: OS X 10.11 is named El Capitan and it brings some great new features.
- Refresh for Mac Mini
- Refresh for Mac Pro
MISS: It has been over 240 days since the Mac Mini release, and over 540 days since the Mac Pro release so it was worth speculating that they would be released.1
The Hardest Decision Ever.
WWDC Predictions
WWDC is just a couple hours away. One of my favorite things is to try to predict what we will see in the keynote. Then I’ll follow up tomorrow with a post showing how well I read the tea leaves (just kidding, I read blogs not leaves). So without any further adiu…

John 1:4,5
The following is a continuation of my personal journey through John.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.
Originally, from the beginning, life was found in the λογος, Christ. Further, Salvation is found in Him. He came to this place corrupted by sin and operated as a The Light to both reveal our sins, and save us from our sins. The powers of this world could not overpower it.
Good stuff. I love the Bible and the Gospel of John.
John 1:2,3
Building upon yesterday’s post; I am still so amazed by the Gospel of John.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. Read More Here
So, here Christ was not only with God in the beginning of this reality. There was not a single component of this reality that came into existence without Christ creating it.
This indicates that God is ultimately in control. Here’s my prayer.
But You, O Lord, are a shield about me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
Review: Jesus Calling by Sara Young
I first learned about Jesus Calling by Sara Young when a KLOVE host read from it on air. Initially I had a good impression of it. But, I was not inclined to read it. Over the last few weeks I have heard a few people quote Jesus Calling. I have heard many people ravening about it. I even heard someone call it “A modern day My Utmost For His Higest” Then I saw that it was available as an iOS app. Here’s a link. So, I finally submitted, and have began reading it.
Aging Biblicaly
Francis Chan is a evangelical Christian who often calls for people to reevaluate their walk as a Christian. In this video he questions how whether, Christians, especially elderly Christians, are hoarding stuff or living for Christ.
He seems to focus in this short clip on the elderly. However, can’t we all say that we have at some point held on to stuff?
What do you think? Does he get it right? Are we, as christians, living like we can’t wait to see Jesus?
