About

We’re the Midkiffs: Hardie, Melissa, Alexander, Thomas, Jonathan, and Sophia. This is our family site—a quieter place for writing, photos, and the ordinary life we share.

Hardie

Hardie is a husband, dad, geek, and Christ-follower. He’s an ordained minister and hospice chaplain, and he cares about the church gathered and scattered: ordinary people making a difference in the lives around them.

Melissa

Melissa is a wife, mom, and the steady center of our home. She loves her four children well and is passionate about discipling women.

Alexander

Alexander is our oldest. He reads everything from comic books to the Chronicles of Narnia, and he is an artist with a serious love of games.

Thomas

Thomas is our second son. He loves cars and anything with wheels, and he has always had a plan—for the work he wants to do, the home he wants, and the vehicles that go with it. Independent, particular, and fully himself, he has a way of teaching the rest of us to pay attention.

Jonathan

Jonathan is curious about how things work. He enjoys science, asking good questions, and playing video games.

Sophia

Sophia is our youngest. She sings, reads, and would usually rather be with her family.
