Summer Soundtrack

We all engage in pop culture through music every day. I believe that even in today’s music, we can see Jesus when we look for Him.

At SBC I am leading a series, we will take four popular songs students know by heart and unpack Biblical truth in each. We are meeting Tuesdays online. Let me know if you need an invatation.

To the same end I am making a Summer Playlist of these songs and songs that relate to the biblical truth.

Bible Reading Plan

One of the building blocks of a growing faith in Christ is scripture intake. Reading the Bible helps your relationship with Jesus grow. Currently I enjoy using the H.E.A.R. method of Bible study. H.E.A.R. was developed by a pastor, Robby Gallaty. It is a simply to engage scripture in a focused manner. Here is a link to his explaination.

A.C.T.S. is an acronym to help guide prayer. It is modeled on the Lord’s Prayer, and also provides a simple structure to pray in a focused manner. A – Adoartion, Talk with God about how much you love him and all he has done for you. C- Confession, Tell God about your sins, turn from them, and ask for forgiveness. T-Thanksgiving, Tell the Lord how much you appreciate all he has done for you. S- Supplecation – Pray for the concerns of others.

I have created printable Journal Pages that you can download and print for free. Please use them to assist you in your devotional practices.

Who doesn’t like to get something for free? You don’t have to win a contest, You don’t have to buy a ticket. I will curate a list of free (no copyright) images on this link. If, you are the creative type then, dont say “i never gave you anything”.

You’ve heard the phrase boys will be boys. It describes a myriad of behavior that all is allegedly acceptable because of the presence of a Y chromosome.

Regardless of if these behaviors are acceptable life with boys is always challenging and rewarding. We as a church need to invest in making boys into men.
